Designed for beginner players with an anatomical fit and good protection are the U+03 shoulder pads by CCM. The U+03s are built from the inside out (B.I.O. System) with integrated lightweight protection. The biceps are asymmetrical with injection molded low profile shoulder caps for better fit and great protection. The sternum and spine are protected with dual-layer foam and PE inserts offering lightweight protection. The stomach padding is extended so that your shoulder pads meet with your pants for maximum coverage and protection.

+03 is the model name for this shoulder pad. CCM also has produced +05 and +07, these are a beginner level pad and would be appropriate for a 7 year old.
