The biggest difference between the two masks is in the shell construction. The NME5 is made of lexan, which is a polycarbonate, high impact plastic. The NME7 is made of fiberglass and with Kevlar reinforcement in the forehead and chin areas. The NME7 will also have better interior foams as well as a stainless steel cage.

Yes - you can add a non-certified cat eye cage to the NME7. That cage can be found here:

Is the NME 9 worth the extra $500 or is the NME 7 a better buy

The NME 9 is constructed using fiberglass, carbon fiber, kevlar and titanium (forehead and chin areas). It has a triple density liner, including a gel liner for maximum comfort. It is a pro level mask.

Then NME 7 is made of fiberglass and carbon fiber, with kevlar in the forehead and chin. It also has a similar foam layup as the NME 9. Weight will be comparable to the NME 9 as well.

Only you can make the judgement as to whether one mask will fit your situation better than another mask.

Question
NMe 7 mask or the profile 940
Hello iam a midget a 15 year old goalie and iam looking for a new mask . My old mask was not safe at all it was a bauer nme3 and i once almost got a serious injury so i decided to get a new mask and my parents will pay for anything as long as its safe. I would want the mask which has better foams and material and chin cup and sweatband and cage. Some people in my leauge shoot really hard. They both are the same price but the profile 940 is last in the series and the nme7 is second best.

I like the NME7 out of those two options for a couple reasons. It has the flat wire cage, this offers great visibility. The NME also has gel foams in contact points making for a comfortable fit. I prefer the Profile 940 sweatband but that can be easily replaced on the NME for a Profile or Sham sweatband.

The Profile series is available in a one senior size only where as the NME7 series is available in 3 various fits for maximum comfort and protection.

Question
This vs reebok 7k or hackav 2608
Hi iam thinking of getting my son a new mask. He plays 11 year old hockey and is a goalie.
I would like the mask which offers the best protection for him and comfort.

It's difficult for me to say which helmet will be the most comfortable for your son and they offer fairly equal protection. I would give the Hackva a small edge in the shell material. The Bauer will have more comfort foam and the straight bar cage. The Reebok offers a wider face opening for better side visuals. They are all good masks with their own certain upsides.

I would recommend becoming a Total Hockey Platinum Breakaway member. This will give you free return shipping, among other great features, just incase the mask does fit or isn't what you were expecting.

No, you can not purchase certification stickers. It is recommended that your painter simply mask over the sticks and NOT remove them for painting.
