how do you attach these socks to your protective shorts on the back, when there's no velcro tab on the back?

The Gamewear socks attach to your protective shorts (jock shorts). Both the socks and shorts should have velcro on the back and the front. If you do not have velcro on both sides, you can always tape the socks to your legs with clear tape.
