Questions & Answers for Bauer One80 Goal Skate

Question
what does the vertexx do on the cowling?

Bauer has figured out that cutting a hole in the medial forefoot of the cowling results in a 28% improved attack angle and incredible decrease in weight. Meaning that the VERTEXX allows for a goaltender to have a wider stance while still having the ability to move laterally with agility and quickness because of the way the holder, steel and cowling are assembled. In addition to that cut out, Bauer has made small cut outs in the back of the cowling as well to help reduce the overall weight. The front of the VERTEXX cowling uses a square design which will help provide additional coverage as well as help with rebound control.

I know trying them on is the best way, but I'm not able to do that... I wear Bauer Reactor 1000s, how consistent are they in size to the one80s?

They're pretty consistent in size. I wear a Reactor 5000 and I've tried the One80. Besides being a much stiffer boot, the One80 felt nearly the same once it broke in a bit.
