Contrary to the other answerer, I found these are actually a bit wider than the Vapor line, which for me felt like I was putting on iron maidens when I tried them. You really should try on a pair to make sure they fit your foot.

Bauer skates typically do not run narrow. They are very true to size. If you are able to try a pair on that would ideally be your best bet to ensure a proper fit.

The Bauer Supreme One40 skate does not come in a size 13.5. The biggest size the One40 comes in is a size 12EE.

However, Bauer does make the Vapor X:40 skate in size 13, 14 and 15 in a E width (full sizes only). Feel free to look at the Vapor X:40 skate (item # 2976-41)

Question
One40s or One60s?
I am a beginner, and cannot decide between the One40s and the One60s. I do not have a lot of money to spend, but want a skate that will last a while and offer proper protection. So, my question is: are the One60s worth the extra $50?

I think the One60's are the way to go. The boot is going to be stiffer which is what you need as a beginner. This will provide you with more support and comfort. I also suggest heat molding the skates after you purchase them. This will help you break the skates in and shape them to your foot.
