it is bandage tape. AKA 3M Vetrap. the same stuff they wrap the ankles of race horses with.

There are some customers who have had issues with that happening. However, I have this on my stick and my gloves have shown little wear after buying these gloves about seven months back.

Stretch grip tape is designed for the shaft of the hockey stick to assist is grip without having the wear and tear that regular cloth tape can cause on the palm of a glove.

I personally would NOT consider this Carolina blue. It does not have the brightness to it when you think about Carolina blue. More of a dull/ faded blue.
