If you're on a budget, I would recommend the 4.0s. The 4.0s are still very light, durable, and easily broken in after a nice bake and 1st skate.
As always the first sharpening on any skate will be a little more costly, and may require some profiling. In the end, the 4.0s will give you the return on investment that you're looking for while saving $130.
**Not to knock on the 5.0s becuase those are extremely nice skates!

As a beginning level skater in your teens (I'm assuming that you're still growing), you'd do well with the Vapor X 4.0 skates. They will fit a tight budget, and they're more than good enough to suit your skating needs now and as you get better. If you outgrow them, and also progress in your skating, then a better skate could be warranted.

The 5.0 Skate is going to be superior to the 6k skate. It is lighter and lined with Lightweight Anaform Foam Ankle Pads and a Hydrophobic Grip liner, which aids in padding and comfort.

The Vapor X 5.0 are the equivalent to what the X:40 skates were from last year's line. Bauer said that the X:40 line was the biggest seller last year. Other than cosmetically, the X 5.0 has the same feel and technology of the X:40. The CCM skates are generally known as being narrow. They are both great skates, especially for the price. It basically comes down to what you are looking for in skates.

The TotalOne is going to be one of the lightest there are out there. The One80 and One70 skates have the same kind of feel as the TotalOnes, only heavier. Those skates have a slightly wider fit while the Vapor line is more on the snug side. The X 4.0 is a great skate for novice and young, developing players. It may be slightly heavier than the skates above it in the Vapor line, but once the person is through with using these skates, buying a skate higher in the line will be that much more lighter.

The Bauer X5.0 skate does come with a few upgrades that is not included in the Bauer X4.0 skate. The Bauer X5.0 skate is an overall lighter skate by about .16 lbs. It is a lighter skate due to the lighter anatomical foam around the ankle and the lighter material of the outside of the skate.

Question
Comparable skates
Here is the deal, I have the old Vapor 20's, which are way beyond their usable point as the padding is not helping my ankle out anymore. By far the best skate I have skated on and I even tried out the vapor 30's and 40's, but did not like them as much as the vapor 20's. I have asked this question to a lot of people and no one was able to provide the right answers I am looking for. All I got was I don't know, they should be the same. I have been looking at the 5.0s or even the one80s, but I just do not have the right answers to make a move on purchasing the right skate. Any help will be appreciated.

Their have been several changes in skate technology since the production of the Vapor 20 skate. Skates like the 5.0 and the One80 are higher end models which means they are noticeably stiffer, making the break-process a little tougher. You'll find that both the One80 and the 5.0 will be more comfortable once past the break-in period. If you are currently using Bauer's Vapor line, it may be best to stay within that line that you are used too, as opposed to switching to the Supreme line, which isn't as narrow in the forefoot. Switching lines within Bauer may cause a different feel that you are not accustomed to.

Switching from one manufacturer to another could pose some challenges. You are currently using the top-of-the-line Reebok skate that you are comfortable and familiar with. The fit as well as performance will be noticeably different with a Bauer X 5.0. Bauer skates tend to be slightly more narrow in the forefoot while the Reebok skate is more narrow in the heel.

The X 6.0 is going to be slightly lighter of a boot. The holders and runners stay the same, but the boot's technology changes from the 6.0 to 5.0 to make the boot lighter.

Switching to the X5.0 skates will definitely be an upgrade. Staying with the same manufacturer and even the same product line, Vapor, in this case makes for an easier transition.
