The EQ50 will not be as tight of a fit as the S17. As for durability, the EQ50 is improved as well as the added foam protection. They are not as light as the S17 but it is not noticeable.

answer 2
The EQ50 skates are from the Synergy line that Easton manufactures and the S17 are from the Stealth line. Both of these skates are the top of the line that Easton manufactures currently. The S17 is 2010 model and the EQ50 is brand new for 2011. The tongue on the EQ50 is Pro-Molded Felt.

I was a 9.5R in the S15 and just bought the 10D. Fits a bit more snug in the arch but I felt my S15 was a bit too loose...... maybe because my S15's fell apart! LOl! So far LOVE! the EQ50's! night and day differance.

Easton skates will typically have the same sizing parameters regardless of the model of the skate. If you wore a 10 in the S15 skate you would most likely still wear that size in the EQ or RS models.

answer 2
It will be as stiff if not more then the Z-Air's because of the new style of boot construction. Most of the new style of boots have higher end composite reinforcement for support but still having a lightweight feel.

The sizing will be relatively the same. I would suggest getting the same size in Easton that you wear in Bauer.

eq50 or cl?
which would give a better customizable fit and is overall a better skate?

Both the Crazy light and the EQ50 are high end model skates and either one would be a great choice for any player at any level. They have some different materials they use in the manufacturing process but the most significant differences in the skates would be the weight and widths of each model. The Crazy Light weighs in at an extremely light 1.88 lbs., helping to increase foot speed and increasing reaction time. The fit on CCM skates runs a bit more narrow in the heel and mid foot and has a slightly bigger arch, while the Easton skates will run slightly wider in the mid and fore foot. Both skates are heat moldable for the perfect customizable fit.

They will have a similar fit and feel, not identical. A size 9.5 in the EQ50's should be good.

Easton skates are problably the widest on the market today. The heel has a regualr fit but as you go past the mid foot towards the fore foot is has a wide fit. I would suggest you try a size 10.5 and see how they feel.
