The Vaughn Vision 9400 Goalie Chest and Arm Protector was designed to maintain full protection and mobility by working with the natural movements of the body. The 9400 is an ideal mid-level pad that performs as well as many higher level models. * Designed to work with natural body movements to optimize flexibility while providing superior protection * Large shoulder floaters and Sternum chest plate create more blocking surface and greater net coverage * Improved arm design adds more protection and increases arm/pad stability by staying in proper position during use * Lower flex panels on front chest pad allow for a deep crouched position and aid in flexibility * Moisture resistant internal liner prevents water build-up and weight gain * Large shoulder caps and cap extensions add width for improved net coverage * Tapered fore arm designed to add stability and taper into the glove and blocker for overlapping protection * Adjustable wrist, arm straps, and back padding for a tailored fit * Four point adjustable elbow * Side chest pad extensions improve protection

The Vaughn 9400 chest protector is an intermediate level unit. If you're playing occasionally at a beginner level, this should be a good unit for you.

For someone playing a high level of hockey almost every day of the week, I would recommend a pro level chest guard. This will give you maximum protection without breaking down from excessive use. The Vaughn 9500 would be the pro version of this chest and arm unit.
