The area the wraps around the neck is made of a dense heat-moldable foam. There are hard shell inserts inside the material to protect the collar-bone however and is comparable to many top-tier shoulder pads.

mobility of pad
How would you compare this pad to the S13 in terms of mobility and protectivity. It looks less mobile but the padding appears different so not sure.

These shoulder pads would be similar in mobility and protection to the S13 shoulder pads. The Graf's will fit a little smaller than the Easton's. These Graf's are adjustable in many spots which can let you have your own personalized fit which will increase your mobility.
