Yes they can be heat molded. I have done this before, and as a precautionary I have removed the wheels first. But you can leave them on if you would like, just make sure the oven is on the lowest setting.

Personally I prefer the Bauer XR4, based almost completely on the fit for my foot. Both of these are good mid level skates for the novice player.
