The Black Edge Speed Runner is sharpened the same way as any other runner. The carbon and stainless steel makes for a harder blade which allows for more of a bite on the ice.

You would need to match the steel runner size with the holder size found at the heel by the rivet holes. You should see a 3 digit number with an L or an R next to it depending on what skate you are looking at.
