Customer Questions & Answers for
Vaughn Custom Sports 7260 Velocity 5 Leg Pad

The 7260 Velocity 5 Leg Pad is a high end Junior pad that uses superior materials in construction than pads that are typically found at this level. The design is identical fo the 7460 Senior Leg Pad but features a reduced size and only two (2) calf straps instead of the three straps found on the adult model. The pad even features adjustable knee lifters that are thinner than the ones found on the adult model so that the younger goalie can get the same features that the adult goalies get. New for 2012, the outer calf guard has been widened to provide extra protection. Also, a redesigned knee cradle features wider construction and flex panel on the outside edge for faster pad rotation. This design is great for goalies with wider legs, or goalies who wear separate knee protection underneath the pants..The 7260 has a 10 inch width and it is slightly narrower and thinner than the 7460 to accomodate the weight and flexibility needs of smaller goaltenders. Junior goalies playing at a higher level, or smaller Intermediate goalies playing at an Intermediate level will love the 7260's. * New V5 graphics are designed to give the pad a taller, larger appearance * New intermediate sizing with proportional design * Wide leg channel * Knee lifter system for improved ergonomic body positioning * Full stitched graphics * Durable Clarino micro fiber outer shell construction * High density outside rolls for improved puck deflection * Inner edge balance stabilizer * Pro-style thigh guard * Full, wide knee cradle with angled strap position * Available in sizes 26+1, 28+1, 30+1, and 31+1

The 7260 pads that we have in inventory are:

white/white weave
white/black
white/black/red
white/black silver

There is also a white/black/blue that is available, but we currently don't carry that color (though we can get it if you would like it).

Question
Any big differences between the 7260's and the 7250's?
The Vaughn 7260's are the intermediate pad and the 7250's are the junior/ intermediate pads.

Just wondering if they are pretty similar.

Thanks for your help!

They are somewhat similar, though the 7260 has many of the upgrades that came with the V5 line (new knee cradle, wider construction and flex panel on the outside edge, and some other changes). The biggest change is that the 7260 comes in a 31+1 now, whereas the largest size in the 7250 was 30+1.

Question
Stock? Vaughn 7260
I was wondering how long these will stay in stock? I am saving up $$ to make a purchase.
If they are not in stock, how long from the point of purchase would it take to receive the pads?
I might try to visit a TH store (Schaumburg or Downer's Grove, are there certain stores which have this model in stock?

Question
Looking to upgrade my son's Vaughn 7250 30+1 pads.
I want to upgrade my 11 year old sons Vaughn 7250 30+1 pads. I am interested in the Vaughn 7260 but not sure if the 31+1 would be big enough upgrade. He has a size 7 1/2 skate, 16" to center of knee. Want to stay with Vaughn. What would you recommend

This is a hard question to answer with limited information, but I would say that you'd want to say with a 31. When you move to a 32, you're moving to a Sr. pad with a full 11" width. This may be a little too big and bulky for a 6-12 year old.

Question
Are these pads only 10 inches in width
From looking at the various other intermediate pads, most are 10.5 to 10.75 inches in width. These are listed at only 10 inches, which to me seems small for an intermediate pad? I know it's not much but the extra 3/4 inch is a big deal. Can you please verify the width for me?
