Customer Questions & Answers for
Vaughn Custom Sports 7460 Velocity 5 Chest & Arm

The new Vaughn VP 7460 ADULT Chest and Arm protector is a much updated version of the 7450 unit from 2011. The new 7460 shares many of the same features as the new 7800 Pro model but in a slimmed down version. It is great for the goalie who wants great protection, but who doesn not have a higher body mass or who does not want the bulk of the 7800 Pro model. The shoulder floater design mimics the new, enlarged V5 floater design to be wider at the top outside shoulder location. Larger, more circular HD foam padding sits underneath the main floaters for extra protection and these pads also extend over the upper bicep for added coverage. A large shaped sternum plate with plastic and foam reinforcement sits atop a chest pad made of thicker HD foams than it's predecessor. The belly features angular shaped blocks which are designed to move with the body, as well as a lower belly flex section that keeps the chest pad in place when bending at the waist. The arms padding has molded reinforced caps encapsulated in foam for impact resistance. A wide, pre-shaped main arm floater with high-density foam internals gives added protection. The elbow caps are made of plastic with softer foam on the inside for comfort. A four-point elbow adjustment refines the fit of the arm unit. Molded, tapered forearms work with with chest and arm units, and a tough velcro wrist strap helps further customize the fit.Full back spine padding features multiple adjustments with a high density insert and adjustable belly strap for easy adjustments.

The 7460 chest guard falls between your standard senior and pro level chest guards. It has a bit more protection, than say the Vaughn 9400 but not as much as the Vaughn 7800. If your playing almost every day with high level shooters I would recommend the 7800 Pro model.
