Customer Questions & Answers for
7490i Chest & Arm

The Vaughn VP 7490i Chest and Arm Protector is a scaled down version of the 7800 Pro model, sized down to meet the size requirements of the Intermediate sized goaltender. Young adult goalies that need the maximum protection and performance of a Pro-level unit, but do not have the full body size or weight to fit in an adult model, will love the 7490i.Large V5 7800 style shoulder floaters (extended on the upper outside edge) made of high-density internal foams give maximum protection while also increasing coverage. These floaters are covered in nylon so that they do not stretch upon impact or grab the jersey while moving. A large HD foam sternum plate and neck protector are covered in aerospacer mesh for weight savings. The chest blocks are made of angled HD foam that is anatomically designed to move with the body. A side rib cage pad made of HD foam, as well as expanded side belly pad extensions provide even more protection. New for 2012, an additional flap has been placed over the back strap buckle to keep it from breaking upon impact. A belly flap keeps the chest padding in place when the goaltender bends at the waist.Wide arm floaters have the same thickness at the PRO model but size has been carefully scaled to ensure mobility. Molded arm caps encapsulated in foam padding, plastic elbow caps with four point adjustment straps, and adjustable wrist and arm straps make up the substantial arm units.

Questions & Answers for Vaughn Custom Sports 7490i Chest & Arm

Question
Is it just the arm floaters that are pro thickness? I'd be using it in adult league with some pretty good shooters.
My adult small is high end and has great protection but it seems like they just sewed the same size pads on different length sleeves which makes it hard to move in a small especially in the glove interface.

The 7490i uses the same thickness of padding as the 7800 pro unit, but these pads are just sized smaller to fit an intermediate size.
