You may have to go with a large due to your height. A medium will fit your waist well but it will be short on your legs. Plus, if you're tucking your chest guard in anyway then I'm assuming that you're using suspenders to hold the pants up? If so, then the larger waist circumference of the Large pants won't make much of a difference.

Question
Fitting a female
I am a brand new goalie Of course that means most of my equipment is second hand. I am 5'5" with a 32" waist. Being female I have hips too. I am currently wearing Vaughn Vision 9400 pants (medium) and they seem huge on me. I wear my chest protector out, so don't want a barrel fit. Wondering if these Inna small would give me a better fit given I have Hobbit length legs.

I would go with an INT small to start, as I don't believe that the JR XL would offer you enough protection for your age. The INT Smalls will probably be about 1" longer than your current pants, but the padding will be much better.
